If System Restore works in Safe Mode, then perhaps your antivirus program or a corrupted file is preventing it from starting. now I'm restoring my files with the external drive. October 9, 2009 Dave You should be able to do what you want with Partition magic. Changing the SATA Mode setting (AHCI, IDE RAID) in the BIOS setup to an alternate setting might resolve the issue. I did system restore and windows failed to load. Basically, Dell's program screwed my laptop and they won't compensate at all… Please help Dave.
