No more flat ribbon cable from the mother board to the various drives. But if it has a password you woun't see the file at all. We do have some free data recovery softwarethat will work on FAT 32 partitions or if they are NTFS our DART XP can recover your files.
If there is not, I would contact, you local computer store fro help as it can become an issue of having to remove the motherboard and other peripherals. Once you build out your laptop with the new hard drive you could see if your old drive is seen by your laptop. Ask ! or sugest any software.. You are going to want to try and push, any cables in the way of the rear of the drive, up and out of the way.
